Default NY to HI in my Accent/Blown Motor!! -Long-

This past summer I drove my '99 Accent cross country from NY to CA. From CA I had my car shipped to Hawaii where I currently live. The trip was great, no problems even with the 100+ heat with the A/C on. However, before leaving NY I started the car one morning to find a small "puff" of blueish smoke come from the tail pipe. I reported it to the dealer they checked it out and said it was fine - after all, the car only had 9,700 miles on it.
So on my trip I went......... When I arrived in OH (500 miles from NY) on the first part of my trip I decided to check the oil. Holy sh*t down a whole qt!!!!! I checked all over for leaks.. nothing. For the entire trip this was the norm, about 1qt. every 500 miles. Other than that the car ran fine and I made it to LA where the car was to be shipped to Hawaii. Three weeks later the car arrives in HI. I picked it up, topped it off with some oil and off I went. I did take it to the local dealer here to have to oil problem looked at here. They changed the oil and told me to come back in 1,000 miles or sooner if I see the oil is very low. Well, about 300 miles later while driving up a hill the little motor had enough. I had the car towed to the dealer. Two days later I get the news - your getting a new motor!? Turns out that the motor was miss-firing and "burned" out two cylinders. Well, with the new motor (fixed under warrantee) the little Accent is running strong again
Just had to share that with you guys
