Try taking it all back out and putting it back in again with a printout of the speedstate instructions by your side, take your time and make sure you haven't left anything out. Also make sure that your cut out is big enough and that the bottom of the shifter isn't hitting plastic anywhere. Mine baseplate was precut 'cause I got it from a fellow board member but these are the only things that I can think of.
