Inside the valve cover is a lot of black sooty stuff. I have added a bottle of stop leak (for valve seals) and a bottle of stop smoke, but it still smokes. Compression test is as new. What do you think? Overheating glazed bores/ stuffed oil rings???? Any ideas? Thanks!

I would first suspect a blown head gasket. I also would check the head for leaks while it is out of the car.

Doing this on a bench will tell you if it is the valve seats or something else.
