Default Re: Swap Grocery List - X3 Accent with 2.0L Beta engine

Yeah, I'm looking at doing the same thing to my Accent. I'm hearing a lot of different things about doing it. I would like to get my hands on a 1.8L beta engine and still be able to use my stock tranny. How well do the two match up? How much has to go into that passenger side mount too? And if I do end up doing the engine swap what other mods do i have to do? ive heard of things like cutting down the axel, but is that only if i want to use the Tibby transmission? After its all set am i going to have to chage the computer on my car or is that all set? One more question, im planning on picking up an engine from a local junkyard. I was wondering if all i needed was the engine block or all the mannifolds and wireing to go with it.

thanks
