Default Re: throttle body too big?

If you have $3k to spend then i would say your going to do cams and all? if so i would seriously consider saving up just that little bit extra to do a turbo conversion. A turboed car would give you the most drivability and power as opposed to doing most of the N/A mods.
If you had a honda with vtec then i would be going N/A as they have two separate lobes on the cams which alow for a NORMAL bottom half of the rev range and then on the top half of the rev range they can go a ballistic with extreme lift and duration. This would yeild a car that drives like normal when driven normally and be ballistic when revved hard.
If you went an extreme cam on a hyundai motor you would lose most of your bottom end/normal drivability and only have GOOD power top end. YOur idle would also suck and prob be at somthing like 1200rpm. That means that in everyday traffic driving youd feel pretty silly.
Ive been there done that with N/A mods on my beta motor. Lots of money and very little power gain later... Ive moved on and turboed it and its the BEST mod that i have ever done and without a doubt i wont be going back to N/A unless i have a VTEC honda or Hyundai releases a motor with somthing similar to VTEC.
Thats my 2c. Sorry if ive offended you guys in here but i just thaught he ought to know the facts before he jumps in and spends his $3K
