Default Worn engine mounts?

Hello. I have a '95 elantra 1.6 GLS(first generation), and I was pondering putting a 4g63 in it. But one thing has been happening lately. When I accelerate and deccelerate there seems to be a fair amount of engine movement in the engine compartment. When you first start moving I don't feel much, but if I am going at speed, and do an acceleration and then decceleration, there is a jerking noise down there and also in the transmission (like gears clashing). I am sure that is not a misfire or something like that, just engine movement. In fact, you can make the whole car rattle if you start playing accelerate-deccelerate with the right timing (done only once). The mounts look good, but I don't know of a way of measuring their required stiffness without pulling the engine. Anyone knows how durable they are? Of course, with a swap the situation could be much worse. Another thing that makes me think about the engine mounts is that when one starts rolling the car loaded with little gas, and the engine starts to stall, there seems to be enough movement that something starts touching, but I haven't seen signs of contact (rubbed or hit surfaces)
