Re: kore cf
well we have the first hood that was made. It is the best of the batch, i personally know the shop that did them since they are about 10 minutes down the road. They are one of the best fiberglass shops on the east coast. If you don't think they are that great, have you ever seen the new phatrydez srt4 neon that is campaining for this year on all the big drag racing circuits. Most the carbon fiber body parts on that car were done by the same person. I don't think mopar would give that job to somebody that didn't do good work. The complaint by everyone is that when the weave was laid it was crooked in places, which can happen with carbon fiber weave. The problem with the hoods was not many were done by the owner, most were done by shop techs with not much experience in laying carbon fiber, i personally checked up on the owner every other day to see how work was going. Ours is almost flawless, it has maybe 2 runs quarter of an inch each. The hood latch was also a concern with tom's i know of but ousr again fits perfect. The hoods are not being made anymore as far as i know, because the shop that was doing them is more of a fiberglass shop then a carbon fiber shop. However when we got the hood put on last year we gave him our stock hood to play with. I haven't talked to bob in awhile so i don't know if he has done anything with it. If anyone has pics from carlisle last year then you will see pictures of the first hood of the batch on our coastal blue accent. I have pictures but it takes forever for people(dan) to get them to me. So if you want a carbon fiber hood your out of luck.
