Note to Scoupe Turbo Tuners (& maybe other models)
Hey Guys!....I`ve just discovered that, what I naively thought were two cooling-water hoses connected to the underside of our throttle-body, are, in fact, a system to HEAT the T.B. and stop the butterfly FREEZING open in some imaginary nuclear winter!!..........To all non Scoupe Turbo owners, my point is that the stock car does not even have an intercooler & owners fight to reduce the amazingly high temperatures we would otherwise find in this area....we don`t need to run almost-boiling water through it!.
Fortunately it`s easy to put this right; simply remove both hoses from the T.B. & connect them together with an approx 2.5" long piece of alloy or copper tubing having a suitable diameter & bore (re-use the existing hose-clips).....this takes the T.B. out of the loop & makes a noticeable improvement in performance!.
Cheers, Nick.
