Default Re: chip tunning

hmmmm

Without having looked into it in any readl detail, I think I'd have to look at that with some scepticism.

The chances of a RD Tib/Coupe ECU plugging into an X3 Excel SOHC, having the ECU pins all correct, all sensors compatible (readings from MAF sensors, MAP sensors, etc), gaining an extra 500 rpm and not having any negatives seems pretty remote. Simply adding 500 more revs will not mean more power, as if the engine has already passed it's optimum breathing effeciency, and the power curve has peaked, then simply adding more revs will do nothing but wear an engine out faster.

Not saying it is not possible the Tib's ecu will not work, but I would be very hesitant to try it until thoroughly researching everything and then doing some good testing on a chassis dyno to check for detonation, leaning out, etc

Cheers
