Ok, let me try and explain this in simpler terms.

The V6 has a weak block therefore is unable to handle more then 250whp without having the main bearing cap bolts rip out of the cylinder head. The 4 cylinder Beta has an extremely strong block. This is why the Hyundai Rally team, the Libra Rally team, and the Speedcamp Drag team have all chosen to use it over the Delta. It would be cheaper to build the Beta to 250whp then it would be to swap in the Delta v6 and build it to 250whp. And by keeping the Beta, you could still have the option to go over 250whp.

There is a replacement for displacement. It is on 2 wheels and 600cc.
