Re: Slotted vs. Drilled
what i've learned through research is that drilling can be effective if the rotor is made of a material meant for the application. the ferrari enzo (and several ferraris, porsches, and supercars) come with DRILLED ONLY rotors. however, these rotors are ceramic/composite rotors, not cast like ours. the enzo's rotors cost $25,000 to replace, whereas what we buy costs about $150 or so. see what i'm saying? buy SLOTTED ONLY. if you find someone that makes ceramic rotors for a tiburon that are drilled, go for it....you won't, or you won't pay the mega big bucks they're asking. that's the moral of the story. slotted are the way to go. very effective and not prone to cracking under the rapid heating/cooling of braking as drilled are.
