Gas Filling Problem - Updated
This has been driving me crazy.
Lately, (I've filled up at about 3 different gas stations and this has always happened) every time that I go to fill my tank up with gas, I'll put the nozzle in, and start pumping, and it will click and stop (just like it does when your tank is full). The problem is, it does this when I know it's not full. Like, as soon as I start pumping gas, this happens. I have tried barelly holding the gas thing to let in barelly any gas, and it still clicks off. It takes me like 5 minutes to get 10 dollers worth of gas in my car because of this, not to mention I can never even get a full tank of gas anymore because I'm worried about it overflowing. I havn't touched the fuel tank, the fuel cap, or anything else related to the fuel except the pump that I changed out and that was over a year ago and it has only recently started doing this.
Why the heck is it doing this and what can I do to stop it? I live in IL, it's been kinda cold, but we've had colder winters where this hasn't happened before. This has happened when my tank has been from 1/4 full to almost on E.
I have to find the source of this problem.
Thanks.
Edit:
Oh, and if it matters, this is 87 octane fuel. I don't think it does, but yeah...I also have tried shaking the nozzle too.
