OMG! Doing that will destroy your transmission very quickly. NEVER shift into reverse or drive from neutral with the engine reving any higher than idle.
To launch an automatic, put it in drive, hold your left foot on the brake and use your right foot to bring the rpms up to about 2000-rpm. When the light goes green, lift off the brake and floor the car.
