im going to give you a shitty answer
try it, and monitor your results. if you like what you're getting, keep at it. if you don't like it, or don't perceive any useful benefit- cut it out.
i promise you the things i do at the gym are a result of finally ignoring a majority of everyone elses advice because it doesnt work for me. i dont like the fact that sometimes i feel like ive wasted so much time at the gym, but im glad i have that experience now and can move forward.
i weighed 135 for about 8 years straight, in the military, and never really improved my physical fitness level. in fact i think i lost some from when i was in high school, as a result of discontinued martial arts and weight training. since i've been out, im up to 160 at about 15% body fat (yeah im a tubby son of a bitch). so the common military training failed me, and my coworkers supplement-guidance failed me.
granted, there have been a lot of strides in the supplement industry compared to 10+ years ago and we're all better for it. btw, if you buy a lot of them, PM me I have a website that saves me sometimes 50% of the cost of GNC and i dont work for them but it sounds too spammish for me to put it here and i dont want to piss anyone off. shipping is low as shit too.
i am on hydroxycut, eat only salads / fruit, and take about 8 protein shakes a day (5 oz), and really if im out with friends or out at the club i eat whatever i feel like. for the most part, i've cut soda out completely- not because i think it's a really cool idea, but because i genuinely want to, which always makes the difference.
good luck, and never stop experimenting with new ideas. there is no such thing as completion in life, always evolving and moving forward.
