Don't be embarassed. Just because you work for Autozone doesn't mean you know how to repair brakes. You may have one or more of several different issues. Your e-brake cables may be broken or seized which is why they don't hold the car. You may have a leak somewhere which is why the fluid level is dropping or maybe the level is down because your pads are worn out.
If you don't know what the problem is it might be best to have a shop look at it and repair it for you. At least you did the right thing and stopped driving it. Having no brakes is a bad situation.
