well I figured I would update my autocross season blog and tell everyone how the last race went.

I ran with cdc over the weekend at harry grove stadium in frederick. The courses are always small because the lot it small but they are fun courses that overlap a lot.

I'm still getting used to the x3 in its current state. The suspension is really bothering me but i'm learning how to drive around it.

The course was an oval with a short slalom in the middle with a figure 8 built in ending with the same short slalom.

I was getting the usual right front wheel spin coming out of tight corners but drove through it. The car felt really balanced without the typical oversteer that I get in the slaloms. I was running the v710s at 37/30 front/rear. It took a run or two to get the tires up to temp before they stopped sliding so much.

I was running in the high 43 second range in the morning runs and dropped in to the low 43 seonds range in afternoon with a 42.88 that would have been my best run of the day if I hadn't hit one of the last cones on course. I ended up with a 43.22 as my best time. FTD was a 39.7 in a very nicely prepped ASP S2000 with a very good driver behind the wheel.

I'd like to get the other ksports on the car and it get it corner weighted and aligned again with a smidge less front camber and some toe out in the front. I also had some rub on the rear longitudinal links so i'm going to have to run the small spacers I have at the next event. I think i'm running a little too much camber in the front right because that is the wheel that locks up first under braking and spins first under acceleration. My last alignment showed a little over 3.5 degrees on that wheel which was about all I could get but might be too much. The front left was closer to 3. That is what I get for going for the more is better theory of things. Once the new(different) suspension is on i've found a shop that will corner weight the car and give me a good even race alignment.

Well the rest of the season will be spent getting more seat time getting somewhat used to the car before I go an ruin everything on the offseason by switching classes to fsp.

Next event is dc region scca at fedex field on the 13th. I placed midpack in street mod last time out here so i'll see if I can do a little better or probably worse. After that i'm back in frederick for the 20th and cumberland regional airport on the 27th.

Hope to see some people out there.
