You can just glue on the fabric of your choice and glue on the seam covering things around the outside to make it look okay. Like the seam coverings that are on some seats, usually vinyl ones. Or you can use flexible El tube for the border which is cool.
If you put down some thin high density foam on the panel first you can cut in patterns like flames or whatever you want too for a cool 3d design look.
