Default 'lil elenor is getting full extractors & sports exhaust

cant wait till tuesday. car goes in for 4-2-1 extractors and 2 1/4 inch sports exhaust. they said they will use the original cat. it better put some more life into the old girl, and a nice deep note. a lot of the cars around here sound like shyt!!!! on full throttle they sound like whipper snippers. it cost me aust. $550 for the lot installed.

what exhaust set ups do all the other excel owners have out there????

oh yeah and what about compressing springs????i dont think my 40mm lower King springs are low enough so i mite get them suckers compressed!

Where in Australia are you, if you're in Melbourne, do you know where I can find an old Hyundai Pony?

i would inquire about using the stock cat. i know i personally would request a hi-flow cat or at least one of the same diameter piping that youre using on the exhaust and header.
it should sound good though

yeah well when i take it in on tuesday im gunna inquire about the high flow cat, do use think that there will be much performance difference between hi & low flow cats?????

i'll also ask about the difference between 4-1 & 4-2-1. i've read that 4-2-1 gives more high end power, and that the 4-1 gives better low range power. the bloke also told me that 4-1 wouldn't fit in the excel engine bay so he said i've gotta get the 4-2-1. ahh well, i'll see how things pan out after the new ones in.

Get the high flow cat. Without it, you exhaust will still have a 1.75" restriction in it and you will lose power. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

Nah they ain't from HVE, they are from a local muffler centre near me.....they had to order all the parts in anyway.......i got a really good deal on this set-up. HVE claim that their extractors are the only ones that boost power by up to 5kw and all other ones actually lose power!!!! Im kinda after a nice sound but also maybe a gain in a bit of power, to take away that lag in the engine.

2 1/4 inch exhaust is almost the biggest pipe you should get right??.......i mean if u go 2.5 inch you will begin to lose power rather than gain. so i guess the place im getting it off know how to set it up well with the original cat. i'll ask about the high flow cat when i take it in tomorrow.
