Default Car problem: Car wouldn't start then started (X2)

I don't know if any body else has had this problem but my car won't in the mornings if there is moisture out but then after a while it starts right up this is the second time this has happened to me. When the car does start up and I start to drive it spits and sputers every time i Shift then it will smoth out.

If any could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I had a similar problem with mine not starting, but I found out that it was the starter going out. I replaced it and its never happened since. I don't know about the moisture thing? I know in the mornings when mine is cold, if I coast down my driveway to the street with the clutch in the idle drops to less then 500RPM. I don't have a clue about that...

Must be all my autocrossing I do with it....

I think I found out what the problem is it might either be the ignition coil or the cap. My starter is still good, that turns over fine it sound like theres no spark.

I know on the LC 1.5l engine the same thing occurs. Its a problem with the ignition coil pack. A small crack that forms over time to cause a no spark. The computer compensates and well nothing happens. then it starts just like normal. The issue is well known with LC and their ignition pack. The dealer is willing to replace mine outside of warranty and do that covered by them.. Nice guys they are.

How old are your spark plug wires? Over time, they tend to pick up moisture, losing dielectric strength.

The way to check this is kind of redneck, but if you spray with WD-40 and starts right up, it probably the wires picking up moisture from condensation.

I have used that same technique sometimes. I'm not sure if its the same problem they're having though. I have tune ups every 6 months. (Expensive but I have no problems) I would believe it to be the Coil and not the cap....

I work at a parts store and i priced the ignition coil it runs for $55.99 plus uncle sam's cut. But if you think it is the coil I guess i will replace it.
