yeah i was hoping it would be just a simple sway, i know it could be done with some splicing and parts, but i'm bidding on just a normal 02 gauge with tach, you can just take your speedo out and swap that to keep the same odo reading correct?

Yep, thats the easiest way. Its just like 2 screws to change out the speedo & ODO. I found that I can remove the cluster without dropping the whole steering column (for when it comes to that time)

If you want some pictures of what screws on the cluster itself to remove (or any pics at all) I can take some since I still have my old one laying around.

I'm bidding on a gauge cluster on ebay right now, but i've found a whiteface stock one that runs for $125. that's a ridiculous amount isn't it?!? i think i'll just wait for my ebay one. I was also thinking about doing a write-up on it. I know it is stupid simple but it seems like enough people want to do it that at least someone could benefit from a write-up full of pics.

Yea its pretty simple as long as you can plug things in where they go

I got my white faced gauges off ebay for like 40 bucks shipped.
I was gonna gave you a link for one on ebay buy your already buying it

You should also change the bulbs just for the sake of not having to remove it later on if one burns out (colors work too if you want)

I never bought red bulbs but I did color them with a sharpie (works but you have to cover it well)

Those are the bulbs from left to right the first two are just normal bulbs with "Bulb Condoms"

EDIT: Oops I forgot to upload the photo of the back of the cluster

Those 4 screws and the Speedo/ODO will fall right out

danath, have you swapped out the lights in your console (like the climate control knobs)?

i want to change the colour of the ones in the gauge but only if i can match the rest of the lights in the car.

Nope, I didn't do that yet. Thats more Vamp's department. I would like to get my whole interior to match also.

Thanks for clearing something up for me...

I have asked the people at PSC and the people at the hyundai service desk (at my local dealer)...
Both wanted $300 plus for a new cluster with tacho...
Both told me that setting the odometer reading on the new one was impossible (some crap about the fine gearing in the odo)...

But you have just shown me how i can keep the current reading of my cluster in the new cluster...
Just swap the odo part out of the old one and into the new one...

Cheers
scythe
