Re: powerchip
The performance gains claimed by Powerchips and the prices asked, compare very un-favourably with the American-owned Superchips organisation. My car (see signature) is just about the only Hyundai Superchips cater for, but the gains are around 25% in torque & 15% in b.h.p.!. Their chip works in exactly the same way as the Aussie product, i.e. it doubles the boost to 14 p.s.i. & enables the fuelling/timing to be re-programmed to suit.
Their U.K. branch quoted me £272 inc.fitting & our value-added (sales) tax of 17.5% was also included in that figure....this would indicate a U.S. price of about $350+ your sales tax. If enough Accent owners approached them they would surely consider producing a chip .....there`s a lot more Accents on the road than there ever were Scoupe Turbo`s!!. :
