I haven't really seen any chips worth getting. I don't think they would add alot but if they do (cause of course I could be wrong) would the 1.6i elantra one work with the 1.6 accent or could the 1.5 accent work with the 1.6?

ur 1.5L accents are SOCH arn't they? If they are i also think they have a bit less power... so the readins they show on that site wouldnt really show u much... :hmmm:

I reckon the chip would work ok with the 1.6...maybe some diff. programing and it be cool...but im no expert by any means... send them an email and find out

thats also quite a good price for a good 10kw rise in power...sure its only at the flywheel...but ud be payin bout that much with ur airfilter/intake.. etc etc

i think with the norm. mods (filter,cai,extrac,2inch exh, mod. tib) together with the chip could push the power to over 100kW (135hp)....

The gold which "claims" the 10kw increase will cost you about $375 US not including shipping from Austrailia.

10kw = a little less then 10hp so I would say not worth it. There are other things you can do with that money first that will give you better gains.

you also need to remember those chips are made for AUS spec accents not US spec.

The performance gains claimed by Powerchips and the prices asked, compare very un-favourably with the American-owned Superchips organisation. My car (see signature) is just about the only Hyundai Superchips cater for, but the gains are around 25% in torque & 15% in b.h.p.!. Their chip works in exactly the same way as the Aussie product, i.e. it doubles the boost to 14 p.s.i. & enables the fuelling/timing to be re-programmed to suit.
Their U.K. branch quoted me £272 inc.fitting & our value-added (sales) tax of 17.5% was also included in that figure....this would indicate a U.S. price of about $350+ your sales tax. If enough Accent owners approached them they would surely consider producing a chip .....there`s a lot more Accents on the road than there ever were Scoupe Turbo`s!!.:
