Re: wheels and tires?
Rubbing from tires occur mainly from 2 reasons: 1. The tires are too wide for the wheel well and when you hit a bump the tires rub on the wheel wells themselves. 2. The wheels are so wide they start to rub components of the suspension (brake rotors, struts, etc). The only way to prevent wheel rub is to get tires that fit the car (proper aspect ratio, width, overall size) or to widen the car to accomodate the wheels themselves (fender flares, etc). Its hard to determine the best tire for your car as this depends on the rims you get, model of car and the modding performed on the car.
Rubbing will cause several things to happen: 1. Rubbing sounds will emit from the wheel well which will result in headaches and strange faces appearing on the driver : 2. If the wheel wells are not protected with some guard it will actually cut the side walls of the tire and will eventually blow out the tires. The pot holes that you drive over will cause more damage to the rim itself and could cause a puncture depending on how low the profiles of the tires are.
Hope this helps and happy modding!
