I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of touch-up paint to use for my Silver Mist 2000 Accent Gl. I have been to a couple of stores and have seen some silver colors but I want it to be an exact match. Any ideas on where I could find out which brand and color to use?
i had a hard time finding one too, but i just used a silver, at least one that looked the closest. going to the dealer would be easier . . . but im not sure if it would be more expensive or not.

I got a small bottle of touch up paint from my dealer for $5. And they had it in stock too.
Try going to the Hyundai Parts & Accessories Extranet through www.hyundaiusa.com
It's in the menu on the left. Like 'Owners' or something and then 'Parts & Accessories'.
A new window will open and it will say 'Launching the Parts Extranet' or something.
Then comes another page in the same window with a menu on the left.
---Click on 'Vehicle Accessories'
From there you follow the directions on the page and you can get the stuff you need. It's neeto,

Thanks for the paint info. I was able to get it from my dealer for about $4.00 and it is an exact match because it is an official Hyundai product. I didn't know I could do so much from the Hyundaiusa site. Thanks again.
if you buy the exact paint and color from the dealer and put it on a lil spot, would it look like a different color from the other paint already on the car?:|

Its the same color so no, if your car is new chances are you won't notice it. If your car has seen a couple of winters and your paint has faded a bit then yes it is noticeable. If its a small spot then you will notice it if your up close to it, otherwise you probably won't.

AccentMangaGL is right, if your car is new (2-2 1/2 years old) then it won't bee too much of a problem.
For me, it was about 2 months after I got my car. I had drive through Reno, Nevada from Vegas to my home in SW Washington. It wouldn't have been so bad had I gone through in the summer. But I was driving two days after christmas, and let me tell you that sand, de-icying fluid, and ice rocks from semi trucks can do a lot of damage after just 1 hour of driving.
I had dozens of tiny marks on my hood, two small chips in my windshield, and three months later the paint of my front bumper began to peel.
The windshield was fixed for free, $5 for the paint, and the bumper peeling is still going on (don't care, I'm getting an aftermarket one anyway).

In England, If you take your paint code (from the VIN vehicle identification plate attached to the firewall) to any large auto accessories store, they will computer match the colour/formulation & provide paint , usually in 1/2 litre aerosols. For small touch-ins you can just spray a little into the lid & apply with an artists brush.
This usually costs around £8.00 per can (U.S.$12.00). I`m sure this service must be available on your side of the pond!.
That's what you do after a few years, and your paint has faded a little. Except that where I get my paint, they have an optical pallet scanner.
They just take the wand, press it against the painted surface and a light inside reflects onto a CCD sensor and the color code reads on the back of the wand. It's pretty neat, and the place only charges $5 for the scanning service.
