It may not be a good thing for those of you with 1.5L SOHC already, but it's good for those of us with 1.6L DOHC.
With more of the 2doors having the same engine as the 4doors, there is a likelyhood that some company will finally see that Turbo Kits, and other N/A accessories will be worth the effort.

There is more than enough stuff for you people who already have 1.5's. Plus i'm kind of glad they upped the power on the accent also means more parts for us 1.6 guys soon

Is the 1.6 as indestructable as the 1.5?? My sister in law sold me on my Accent. She has a 97 and never changed the oil in it. I was over at her house and she started it up to take her sister shopping, the worst ticking from the lifters you would ever hear. Anyway she had almost 70,000 on the car and bought the car at 8,000 miles. Needless to say she was a idiot, didn't think that engine oil ever needed changed! That was 62,000 without any oil other than what was in the engine (which was 2 drops when I pulled the drainplug) After flushing the motor and putting some slick 50 in it the thing sounded almost as good as what mine does now. She is pushing 95,000 miles now and its still chugging along.
