I've been told that an Elantra GT engine is a Beta like that of a Tiburon, except with better Cams. Apparently the GT engine dyno'd at 144bhp while the Tiburon engine was downgraded to a 135bhp rating.

Are these statements accurate? If so, what would be involved in a GT swap into a '97 Accent? My accent is a '97 "Sport" here in Canada... would that translate into a GS with you guys? The reason I ask about the swap is due to proper mounting. I can barely make sense of all the information shooting around about the swap when it comes to mounts being on the engine in (year) as opposed to being on the tranny in (year).

Thanks a bunch. Can you clarify about the engine/tranny mounts by chance however? I have yet to look under the car to see where the '97 mounts are... the splash guards are in the way. As well, does the tiburon mount by tranny or is it all motor?
