how what's the mileage on your car?

if it's pretty high, then just buying brand new stock headers would help quite a bit

i saw them somewhere for just over $100US

the only thing is, if you replaced the header, you'de have to bore out everything else to match the header for the most restored performance

as for ACTUAL PERFORMANCE headers.... I really doubt it

but let me know if you find something!

I knew SR had nothing already

but HVE has

X3 Excel (1.5 SOHC) RPW-EXT-X31 1.5 SOHC $588 $535
X3 Excel (1.5 DOHC) RPW-EXT-X32 1.5 DOHC $588 $535

they list... identical items for the X3 Excel twice, with different product numbers.... I think one should be X2... maybe?

Hi Jerkitt,

They are two different extractors, both the for X3 Excel.

The first one is for a SOHC, and the second listed is for the DOHC Excel.

The SOHC extractor has a round pipe where it meets up with the header, as it only has a single exhaust valve per cylidner.

The DOHC extractor's pipe is elongated as DOHC has two exhaust valves per cylinder, and therefore has a different shape opening in the head where it meets up with the extractors.

When you order, you must specify if yoru car is a SOHC or DOHC model, as the extractors are not interchangable.

Cheers

I have the HVE 4 into 1 extractors (headers) on my 95 Accent/Excel. I only really noticed top end gains, which is usually the case with 4 into 1. My only real issue with them is that there is no flange at the end. I had to get it welded to my flex pipe. Had the Shark Racing ones been available, I definately would have gone with them. They are complete from the exhaust manifold to the Cat, and from the looks on the website, polished.

RPW used to make headers for the X2. I'm not sure if they still do though... www.rpw.com.au
