Okay I know a little. The orion was the first series of engines in scoupes and possibly x2s as well(not sure). Pretty sure it was a mitsu engine and the gearbox is on the opposite side to the alpha engine. Alpha engine is what follows onto x3s in a slightly different version. So it goes orion, alpha, alphaII... The turbo scoupe used an alpha engine. Thats why X3s which are sohc can use scoupe tubo exhaust manifold etc. As it sounds like you have the orion engine you can transplant a number of turbo charged mitsu engines as the gearbox is on the same side. Been done a number of times.

He has the `93 Scoupe, which has the Hyundai Alpha engine which is different to the Mitsubishi engine in the earlier Series 1 car. That had the tranny on the other side of the engine!.

From what I understand about Hyundai is the Alpha is the first Engine, Beta is the second and Delta is third, but I don't know about Orion... Sounds funny....
