Default How can you make a 2002 4dr Accent faster

I have a 2002 4 door Acent 1.6 DOHC 5 speed that needs some performance upgrades, I currently have some custom exhaust work done with a gutted cat., an custom made intake, I disconnected my power steering, 450 cc Mistubishi turbo Eclipse injectors, Bosch Platium Plus 4 plugs, and that about it for now. Does anyone has any idea what company I can get the ecu reprogramed at or how to disable the govenors on the car? Any tips or suggestions on performance on these cars would be helpful
Thanx

best thing to do is forget the mufflers. make your car a straight pipe with no muffler and also cut off the resinator. will increase your hp by at least 10 hp. I did it recently and noticed a huge difference. also you can get a 00 civic turbo like me and easyly modify it to fit yours. the sound with the straight pipe sounds just like my friends new porsche when it takes off.

umm no offense but those 450cc injectors on the stock fuel map are probably killing some horsepower and your wallet in gas money.... :hmmm:

but youre in luck!!!! i have 2 more sets of headers left if you want one; they are made by pacemaker; brand new and are VERY good quality. i just looked at them this morning as they came yesterday . i did a pre-buy and 3 of the 5 sets are spoken for but if u want the headers (you will need a new catalytic converter; or run without one i guess since you already are... :ermm: ) but headers + a full exhaust will help you utilize those big injectors a bit better.

i would also look into an APEXi S-AFC fuel controller or something similar (SMT-5 or SMT-6)

e-mail me if you need some more advise; i have the 1.6 also; hell i got the 02 GL just like you : mines silver what about yours???

EDIT

oh yeah our cars dont have a speed limiter i dont belive. just a rev-limiter at 6500... and removing that would entail a whole new stand-alone ECU (~$1000).

EDIT

hmm seems as my e-mail doesnt appear in my profile for some reason....

I forgot to mention that I do not have a resonator, only a performance muffler that is straight through(no restriction)

450cc injectors? :??: HOLY OVERFUELING BATMAN!!!:??:

Checking your mod list in your profile, there's a few things you can do to go faster.

1)GET RID OF THE 17" WHEELS and get yourself a set of lightweight 15's with sticky sticky sticky rubber (I suggest Falken Azenis in 205-50-15).

2)How did you lower front of the car 1"? PLEASE dont say you cut your springs...:depressed:

3)Hyundai's make hp the way every other car makes hp. Either you make the engine breath better on its own (n/a) or you force air down its throat (forced induction). Since it seems to me you're into building a show car more than anything, I suggest getting a full exhuast (header, hi-flow cat, cat-back), a new air cleaner, larger throttle body (55mm), a piggyback to tune your fuel curves better, plugs and plug wires, and an upgraded clutch.

Beppo- If you can hold onto one of the headers for me, I am interested still just a lack of funds...:ermm:
