Default gas mileage

okay, i've had my accent for about 5 months now, and the damn thing is guzzling gas like an alcoholic. I was wondering if by installing an intake and exhaust would that reduce gas consumption? or would that make it worse?

How much millage on your car????

This will play a big factor on the gas millage. My accent guzzled until she was broken in. It took about 5000 miles to break her in. Also weather and driving conditions will affect millage.

i broke mine in after the 500 mile mark... only giving it time to seat the rings, and i've been getting 33.333 mpg cruising (terrorizing the car in first and second), or i'll get around 26 mpg (as advertised for autos, but not my manual) when i go cruising up and down westheimer (heavy start/stop, and/or racing conditions)... however, i've just pushed into the 2270, almost 2300 (and my car is 4 wks old today) miles old, and it guzzled the first three gallons fast... but the 4 th gallon took about 35 miles... go figure... and those 35 miles weren't just daily driving, but i'd be crying if i was that motor, lol

anyways... you might have a leaky injector, and/or your injectors are spraying way to much fuel...
