Could you possibly pry them out like on the 2000 - 2002 accents? I've never seen them up close so I couldn't tell ya. Maybe try to heat up the glue and pry them open.:ermm:

Take A real close look to your headlights, does it look the like plastic orange piece is detachable or does it seem molded in ?? Chances are its removable, since the last accent models were like that. If it looks like its just held in place without glue or anything else im sure you can yank it out. Cool you'll prob be the 1st 03 with cleared headlights if it works.

Yep, it can remove the plastic. I haven't seen it done yet, but I've seen the 03 headlamps up close.

One question though: are your headlamps the ones with the smoked ring inside?

If so, it'll be easier.

To do the whole thing, you'll have to take the headlamps apart, as there isn't enough space in the headlamps to get the reflector loose.

To get the headlamps up you need a few hours of free time and a hair dryer. Don't use a heat gun, you'll fucck up your headlamps. Just pry them apart onece you've spent about 20-30 minutes heating the things up.

Since no one here has taken apart 03 headlamps yet, your on your own on the specifics. Where do you live? If you live in the NW of the US, I might be able to help you out.

Morinning guys
I'm in the oak forest Il. area (10 to 15 min. south and west of the city). I'm going to take the lights off this weekend. You say to heat (not a hair dryer) to get them to come apart. If I remmber you where the one to do your 2k2 like that. I did my 2k2 the thouth the blub hole.I like your blue lights whats up ?

I haven't taken my headlamps apart yet....I attempted it once to get the reflectors out...but I used a heat gun (industrial tool for working with adhesive and metal) and warped the rear of my driver's headlamp a little.

After the attempt with the heat gun, I just used the bulb hole.

To open them up you can use a normal blowdryer (for hair).

Here is a link to a thread with some better info and pics: HP user itsbrad painted his headlamps.

Note, use masking tape to mask off the turn signal area. Like ssraccent did:
