go look in the showroom for my pics, but the first 10 hoods they made were from sh*t manufaturer and they found someone new to make them. they look like CF hoods, nothing special.

well we have the first hood that was made. It is the best of the batch, i personally know the shop that did them since they are about 10 minutes down the road. They are one of the best fiberglass shops on the east coast. If you don't think they are that great, have you ever seen the new phatrydez srt4 neon that is campaining for this year on all the big drag racing circuits. Most the carbon fiber body parts on that car were done by the same person. I don't think mopar would give that job to somebody that didn't do good work. The complaint by everyone is that when the weave was laid it was crooked in places, which can happen with carbon fiber weave. The problem with the hoods was not many were done by the owner, most were done by shop techs with not much experience in laying carbon fiber, i personally checked up on the owner every other day to see how work was going. Ours is almost flawless, it has maybe 2 runs quarter of an inch each. The hood latch was also a concern with tom's i know of but ousr again fits perfect. The hoods are not being made anymore as far as i know, because the shop that was doing them is more of a fiberglass shop then a carbon fiber shop. However when we got the hood put on last year we gave him our stock hood to play with. I haven't talked to bob in awhile so i don't know if he has done anything with it. If anyone has pics from carlisle last year then you will see pictures of the first hood of the batch on our coastal blue accent. I have pictures but it takes forever for people(dan) to get them to me. So if you want a carbon fiber hood your out of luck.

I know Sharkracing has a vented hood (not sure if its carbon fiber) but they still haven't filled the pre-orders yet. I guess you could either e-mail them about it or order it and they will probably contact you. I tried to order the gauges and they said that the pre-order wasnt filled and they told me to try again some other time.

As far as I know, KORE is still taking orders for the hoods. They still own the mold, but like the disclaimer says it will take several weeks/months to make and the visualquality of the hood might not be show quality as its more of a racing part.

dude they aren't making anymore hoods dan told me himself, bob at class glass doesn't do carbon fiber anymore, it was just getting to costly for dan as well. And to jack yes ours has the bracing with the steel striker plate so we can use the stock latch. Bob's design was very good just some of the carbon fiber that got laid was laid by the less experienced guys. If you take a look at any fiber images hood, the kore hood is designed the same exact way, with just a fiberglass frame on the outside and the rest is just carbon fiber, if you look at cheaper designs they are just fiberglass hoods with carbon weave on the very top layer. Shark racing has had that buy for well over a year, just face it its not happening.
