Hi Ice Vulcan,

It's pretty easy, but needs some patience. Open the boot, and remove the two nuts from the feet at each end of the wing. This will need a 10mm spanner or socket.

Then remove the nut under the middle foot/stop light. Also unplug the wing's stop light.

Even though the nuts are all out, the wing will (should) stay attached to the bootlid, as there is double sided tape used to hold it down at each foot. Here is where the patience comes in... close the boot so that it is shut, and then slowly pry away the wing working on each foot at a time. Gently rock each foot back and forward, a little bit at a time. Slowly but surely, the tape should start to give way. Use both hands on the wing, and use firm, but gentle movements. The last thing you want is for the tape to suddenly give way on one foot and you either snap the wing, bend the bootlid on the other side, or loose grip as it jerks and you fall over and hurt yourself (though I would recommend having someone video you as you do it, as all three scenarios are bound to give us a laugh, and may even win a prize on America's/Canada's/Australia Funniest Home Video Show).

When you do get the wing off, try to cover the double sided tape on the feet so that it does not pick up too must dust and bits of grit, as it'll be a real pain to remove later. The tape is very good stuff, and 5 years after taking my wing off, it still has a lot of stick left in it.

Best of luck, and let us know how you go.

Cheers

Does the tape will stick again after removing the wing ? because I want to put back the same wing after !!!

After all bolt gone, some tape stick the wing on ? :hmmm:
Do I need the give some up force or just swing a little bit during some time ?

thanks

Yes, the tape will remain very sticky for quite a while after it is taken off, as long as you do not get it too wet, or too much dust/sand/grit on it, it should be fine.

Try to keep the tape free from dust and grit though, as once it gets on, you will find it hard to get it off. Part of the job of the tape, apart from holding the wing on even if the nuts do fall off on their own, is also to seal the wing to the bootlid so that no water can sneak its way when it rains heavy.

Cheers

Ok Bretton Hi there!

This tape...you know who manufactures this and if there are substitutes(with almost the same features and quality)? How thick is it?

Thanx in advance!

Freek
