I am having trouble finding pics of the GT (or for that matter, any 2003) Accent. I just want to see mainly what the different seat covers and shift knob/wheel look like, if anyone has any pics handy. Thanks..
Hey ken, how do you like your seat covers? I don't perticularly like them, but I'm wondering how other GT owners feel.

Thanks for the link Ken. In the review it said that they found the shifting "rubbery". Now I'm not sure what this means, but when I test drove a Tiburon, the shifting was extremely smooth (compaired to my neon, with a cable-clutch). Would you compare the shifting to the Tib, or is it not so good? Also, how long are the throws? The tiburon felt like a short shifter. I know I should just go test drive one, but the dealer isn't too close, and I hate having to deal with them breathing down my neck, so I'd rather put it off until I'm closer to buying the car.
First and foremost, you really can't compare it to a Tib. Not even close. Shifting wise, yes, it is a little on the rubbery side, but I love the short throw. I define rubbery as not intuitive, sometimes in a pinch you have to hunt for the gear. That's my definition, I am sure someone will have another or even a better one. My last car, an 1995 Escort GT, was like shifting a truck compared to my Accent in my opinion. I love the throw, and alot of people here get a new Accent and can't wait to drop in a short throw shifter, frankly, I don't see they need. Save the money a buy a sway bar.
Good look finding a 5-speed Accent GT. I went to everydealership in Dallas/Fort Worth, out to Abilene, to Waco, and finally half way to Louisiana in Tyler, TX was where I found one. Hopefully you won't have to go through what I did to get one. Good luck!

I like mine. My comment when I went home was "it just feels right". I like the shifter but of course wish the throw was a little shorter. That being said, the throw is shorter than my previous car, a 94 subaru Legacy GT. I like the way it shifts, though I have never driven the tib. Just my two cents.

Yeah I don't mind the short shifter, I prefer it over my car, I just found it a lot different/unusual. I already asked if they had any GT's at the dealer when I was looking at the Tib, he said they "had some in the back". Hopefully they'll still have em when I'm about to buy.
I like the tranny, it's just a little strange still. I don't even have 600 miles on the car yet, so I am still getting used to it. I think it has one of the most forgiving clutches though, I haven't killed it yet.
As far as your dealer, every dealer in Dallas told me they "had some in the back". Remember, they will tell you anything to get you there. Most of the dealers I dealt with didn't even know what one was, and one even told me there was no such thing as an Accent GT. So yeah. One even told me he couldn't find one doing a dealer search anywhere, and that he would sell me a GL and give me a "deal" on putting a spoiler on it.
This was the day after I got mine, so I called him a liar, told him I had one, told him where I got it, and how much I paid, and hung the phone up on him. So have fun my friend!

That's pretty funny. Yeah he may have been lying, but he did explain to my Dad what the GT was (he was right, said alloys, wing, etc). I'm not in a big rush to get the GT so I will have time to call around or have them ship one in.
If I do get an accent, I definitely want the GT trim though. It's odd deciding between a Tiburon and an Accent, but for some reason I want to keep it Hyundai, probably because they are more unique and less popular. The main thing is, I'd have the accent payed off a lot faster than a Tiburon, but it's not as nice. Either way they are both unique and look good (IMO), I'd just hate to own a civic like everyone else :/.
