Note to Scoupe Turbo Tuners (& maybe other models)
Hey Guys!....I`ve just discovered that, what I naively thought were two cooling-water hoses connected to the underside of our throttle-body, are, in fact, a system to HEAT the T.B. and stop the butterfly FREEZING open in some imaginary nuclear winter!!..........To all non Scoupe Turbo owners, my point is that the stock car does not even have an intercooler & owners fight to reduce the amazingly high temperatures we would otherwise find in this area....we don`t need to run almost-boiling water through it!.
Fortunately it`s easy to put this right; simply remove both hoses from the T.B. & connect them together with an approx 2.5" long piece of alloy or copper tubing having a suitable diameter & bore (re-use the existing hose-clips).....this takes the T.B. out of the loop & makes a noticeable improvement in performance!.
Cheers, Nick.

i did it on my car at the end of winter.... but when winter come's back i tink i will blug them back cause over here i've hear a couple of storys of guys gettin ther TB Stuck wide open :
but you'r right that a nice free mod :P espacially on a turbo Car when you'r trying so hard to cool the air down :

Yes, I have had this done ever since I swapped my stock TB for a 2.0L Beta TB.
After a few problems, I reccommend the ONLY way to do this is to buy a NEW piece of rubber hose (for fuel lines and such I think). It looks just like the stock hose but is not pre-formed or anything. Get about 3 feet so you have plenty to cut off. Then, pulle both stock hoses off, take the foam padding off of the hose that has it, put that on your new hose, and loop it in there so it can easily be hooked to both coolant outlets. Position the foam whereever you might see some rubbing, and try to have the hose in there so there is a big enough loop so that there is not much stress on it.
You might want to do this when you plan on draining and flushing your coolant next, as it can get messy with a full coolant system.

Hey Ice!.....you don`t need an image, just look at the two small hoses sticking out of the bottom of your throttle body, pull`em off & join them together with a piece of pipe!.:
Re: Note to Scoupe Turbo Tuners (& maybe other models)
hi nick. i understand that this is something easy for you but it would be better for us to see an image of it.if you can do it you will help me a lot cause here in greece we have high temperatures in summer and my turbine is ...burning.thanks in advance
Re: Note to Scoupe Turbo Tuners (& maybe other models)
For those who live in climates where winter is very cold, it's best to reconnect these hoses to the TB when the temperatures get chilly. The hot coolant going through the TB is meant to keep it from icing up in cold/snowy/wintry weather.
Re: Note to Scoupe Turbo Tuners (& maybe other models)
But on a turbo car ( even if it`s intercooled, which the stock Scoupe is not) from the moment the engine starts, warm air is passing through the throttle body!.
Another example of Corporate `one-size-fits-all`thinking!.
Nick.
P.S......I`m not going to take photos of something you can see far better with your eyes!.
