I need a set of four (4) injectors for a 1994 Hyundai Scoupe Turbo.
I can't seem to get them anywhere. I got a price from Hyundai of $100US for one.
That's a bit high, can anyone here help me out with a set of four (4) new injectors?
Do you happen to know what the flow rate is for the S-Coupe Tubro injectors?
I have just dropped off injectors for the 1995 X3 Excel/Accent 1.5 SOHC, 1999 X3 Excel/Accent 1.5 DOHC, 1997 1.8 DOHC Lantra and 2000 Sonata V6 2.5 to be flowed. From this I will be abel to get a real measure of their flow capacity at 300 kpa fuel pressure. when I get these results back I will also drop off an injector from my S-Coupe Turbo and a 2000 Coupe 2.0 to be flowed as well.
All these injectors are the same 16 ohm impedence.
The hope is that the injectors are physically interchangable, and once we know which ones flow what, we will be able to upgrade from one engine's injectors to the next quickly and cheaper than buying new injectors.
Even without the flow rates for th injectors in, it is pretty simple to work out a rough 'power capacity' per injector. This however is a very simplistic approach, as it ignores the injector cycle, but knowing that all (most) Hyundais seem to run a fuel rail pressure of 300 kpa, and injectors of 16 ohm impedence, the upgrades seem pretty simple.
65 kw - 1995 Excel 1.5 SOHC (16.25 kw per injector)
74 kw - 1999 Excel 1.5 DOHC (18.5 kw per injector)
125 kw - 2000 Sonata V6 2.5 (20.8 kw per injector)
84 kw - 1993 S-Coupe Turbo 1.5 SOHC (21 kw per injector)
94 kw - 1997 Lantra 1.8 DOHC (23.5 kw per injector)
102 kw - 2000 Coupe 2.0 DOHC (25.5 kw per injector)
104 kw - 2002 Elantra 2.0 DOHC (26.0 kw per injector)
These are all flowed at 300 kpa, which is the factory fuel rail pressure for these cars according to the Hyundai workshop manuals, and all are 16 ohm impedence.
Appreciate that great info. Bretton!........look forward to hearing the results of whatever type/types suit your Scoupe best.
By the way, to digress a little, are you sure that the Pedders shock-absorbers you list on your site are suitable for my `95 Scoupe Turbo SE.?....as I was under the impression that the final cars (with the body-kit) had factory sports suspension.
Also Webtech seems to imply that the colour-code (at least for the fronts) differs between the n/a & Turbo models (Turbo=white).
I`d be grateful if you could check this, as I`m hoping to order a complete set in the not-too-distant future.
Cheers, Nick.
If you want a set of 4 injectors, I can get a complete get of 4 for almost Hyundai model from a local wreckers for A$100 a set (approx US$66) 'as is'.
I am looking into offering these injectors ultrasonically cleaned as well, but have to find out how much this will add to the set of 4 injectors.
Hey Nick,
The suspension for the Series II S-Coupe over here also came with the 'sports suspension' fitted to the turbo model. I haev never been able to get an answer as to what the exact difference was with the 'sports suspension', but over here the shocks all looked the same on the outside - black.
The ride height remained the same, but I beleive it just used slightly stiffer springs and maybe shocks as well. The difference in the shocks would only be in the internal valving, and as far as i am aware there was no external difference.
When I was at HVE we fitted a few sets of Pedders shocks to various S-Coupe, including one Turbo model, and there was no difference in the shocks between the turbo and non-turbo models. Havign said that, the ride was always heaps better, as you never really notice how bad your shocks have become until you replace them with new ones - it's like driving a new car!
Hey Bretton.....thanks for that!. I`ve recently fitted a set of Apex springs & these have screwed the last bit of life from the original (84,000 miles) shocks & I`m getting too much rebound now.
I`ll be back to order a full set of Pedders in a few weeks & look forward to hearing more about the injectors!.
Cheers, Nick.
