Default Used 1997 Accent GT

Hello Everyone,

I am considering buying a 97 Accent GT as a commuter car. I am currentl driving 85+ miles a day to commute to work.

I know that it has a 1.5L I4 engine with 88K miles on it. The party is ask 2010 for the car.

Is it worth it and what have been your experiences with this car when it was stock?

Any input would be great.

Thanks for your help.

Mine has held up well too. I have almost 120K miles on mine, and I'm about to have the front brakes replaced for the second time and the rear wheel bearings for the first time. I've replaced the clutch, a drive axle, the alternator and other miscellaneous items.
Some of the parts are not cheap (rear wheel bearings are costing me $185 CAD EACH for just the parts), but it's a decent little car. Mine has been very reliable too. The bad alternator (replaced at ~80K miles) and the clutch (replaced at ~ 100K miles) were the only things that left me stranded, and in the clutch's case, it was only because I left it too long.

Thanks eveyone, I am really torn on whether to buy this as a commuter car, pay bills, or put some money into the Sante Fe.

I am going to go check it out tonight. Let you all know how it turns out.
