Default bodykit information

I was thinking about getting the body kit off of ebay but I want to try and make my ride original and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to make my own. What would I have to do? Can I do it or is it not worth trying and just getting the one off of ebay. And also how much would I be looking at spending?
Thanks:??:

Body kits can range from about $400 (lips) to over a G. It depends on quality, the maker and the retailer. The paint job can be as much as the bodyy kit. Depending on how well you want it done. With my rims, tires, kit and paint job along with lights and onter minor accessories it went up wto about $3,000.

Here is an X3 owner who made their own kit.
