Default 2003 Accent no-void warranty mods?

Sup,

Just looking at any any relatively cheap mods that I can do for my car to increase performance without voiding the warranty.

It's a 2003 Hyundai Accent 2-door hatchback automatic with the "comfort package" FYI.

Thanks. :smoking:

Any mod that you do the directly cause a problem with you car will void the warranty on that problem

When I talked to my dealership, the maintainence guy said the K&N drop in filter is the only one he considers safe: in other words it he can't see it ever causeing a warranty problem. Everything else he said (includeing car audio because it could mess up the wireing, according to him :dead is a problem if it goes, but thats it. Oh, and he said a muffler, as long as i didn't mess with the exhust line. May differ according to which dealer you go to, but i doubt it.

Apparently you can void your warranty by putting in a new piece of flexpipe yourself too. A friend of mine had a pinhole leak in hers and found out it would cost her $250 canadian for this "dealer-only" part. She thought about picking up a piece of flexpipe at Canadian Tire (Wal-Mart of canadian harware stores) and having one of her friends weld it in place but when she asked at the dealership they told her it would void the warranty. I don't know if that's true or not, but it's kind of disappointing. It's especially disappointing when I think about the fact that I've replaced the entire exhaust system on my 2000 GS and it's still supposed to be under warranty.:nervous:

I have a short ram intake.. and ive had warrenty work done. They actually think it was kinda cool. If it is leaking, falls off, etc.. and you loose compression or something else related to were air goes in the engine. They won't fix it. If you blow up your trans.. there not going to void that because of an intake.

Exhaust pipe.

You can put new piping behind the flexpipe back without voiding the warranty.

My dealer said I could:
Short ram intake (CAI)--said it will run much better.
Exhaust catback (from flexpipe back)--same as above
Tranny cooler--said it will keep the tranny cool if I am hard on it.

I have noticed that the engine runs a lot better with the short ram intake and exhaust. I also notice the tranny shifts quicker (snappy shift) after it reconfigured itself, which the dealer likes.
