Default Mags don't fit?

Hi.

I am about to get some konig helium silver 15" for my accent gsi 2002. I know that there are some retention screws on the calipers and the drums that will not allow my mag to go in flush. Can I remove these screws safely? Anyone has done it?

I don't want centering rings because then your wheel becomes lugcentric and it's gonna vibrate and move around and so on. Thus, I want them to stay hubcentric.

I went on hyundai webtech, but could not locate the screws, can someone tell me their location and how to remove them, and if it worked for anyone else.

Help is greatly appreciated, I am dying to order my mags

Yes the screws can be removed! They are only there for manufacturing reasons.

@pare john: hey, haven't seen you on clubaccent quebec for a while

So after the removal of these screws, the mag will go in flush, right?
Have you done that? there is one on each front disk and 2 on each rear drum I think.

John's got it... the screws are there to keep the discs and drums on the car while it travels along the assembly line. Take them out and your new wheels will fit perfectly.

thx guys!

Last question. The sales rep said that the 40mm offset on the mags will be enough for my application since the new mags are 6.5 inch wide to begin with. Given that most ppl go for 43 mm (w/ spacer) what should I do?

my rims are 6.5" with a 40mm offset with 195's. they work just fine.

They are starting to rub in the rear(my car is lowered) when i have people in the back. but that is because my shocks are finished

Did you keep your stock struts?

When I do my lower job, I plan on replacing the struts and springs as an assembly. I think with the lowered stance, the factory strut can overheat the internals. Having a strut designed for a lowered car can prevent premature failure.
