Default About SHORT SHIFTER.

I don't post alot, but will make this short.
a B&M 45119 shifter will fit any 01 - 03 Accent. Without Moding anything or sawing a thing.

I got mine shipped from B&M thru MOPAC auto in BC
for 185$ (tax and shipping included)
it comes with a nice ( or ugly ) aluminum (*doesn't seems too light ) knob.

You should post more often.

and why would the harm your synchros and tranny?

YOU may harm your synchros and tranny, by shifting faster than you move your left foot..

learn to push th clutch in before you shift... It will take a adjustment on the drivers part.

If that was the case the subaru dealer would not have just installed one on my freinds new WRX... They refuse to perform any mods that will void the warrantee.

this will happen in any car when you don't know what your doing. I've read up and down on honda-tech about short shifters, they aren't going to mess it up any quicker.

Ahh, but is it now officially for the accent tranny, ie will it void the warrenty? I'm paying my car off over 5 years... can't afford to void that warrenty...

I like the shifter the way it is. I think it's nice and short. Compared to my old Escort GT which shifted like a truck.

The only reason i changed my shifter is because i always hit my damn leg or side cusion when i shift to 2nd ..
and it takes a great deal of distance to shift from any gear to another...

it's for my comfort and atlease i will be pretty sure i won't miss a shift..
i never drind a gear since i changed it..
