Default vertical to horizontal rear wiper

I was just curious about getting the rear wiper to rest in the horizontal position instead of vertically. I loosened the bolt holding the wiper arm on under the cap and moved it to the lower part of the window and resting horizontal. I think it looks much better however if you were to turn the wiper on it would go directly down and probably under the wing. What if you removed the panel on the inside of the hatch and switched the two wires that tell the motor which way to go, that would work right? There should be 4 wires on the motor a positive, negative, up and down. the wires on the far left and the far right are the power wires. I am going to attempt this on my car I will let everyone know how it works out. I think it looked much nicer down, much sportier. I was also wondering if I could remove the orange reflectors on my 98 Accent GSi?

It wouldn't work if you reversed the wires. Some motors have a specific polarity and will not operate if the motor happens to be wired up in reverse (even DC motors have this).

I'd keep the wiper in its original park position.

I dont think its going to stop it from working. It couldnt hurt the motor to just reverse the wires because its still functioning the same way just going up before it goes down as opposed to down before up......

I was also wondering if there was a mod for the LC2. I find it kind of weird that they are vertical... what where they thinking?

On many DC motors, there is a polarity issue with them. This means they can only operate wired up one way. Since the relay and switch also controls the speed, (2 speed and delay wipe), the circuit board is looking for a specific route for the voltage to run. Also, the wiper mechanism isn't exactly designed to operate in the reverse mode (the transmission). It can bind up or lock up on you.

I advise leave the thing alone.

As many R/C cars ive worked on and many other aplications it might harm it due to some of the motor's polarities.

Not to menchon one time i had a r/c buggy board in a monster truck it short curcuited the motor and the board while the monster truck was in the center of my old friends pond.i forgot to super glue the tires to the wheels. so it sunk like a battleship and i gave up on conversions after that cause i had no more r/c cars to do my work to.
