Default Anyone interrested in a Strut bar for 1.6L DOHC?

I have a friend down here in ga who is in love with metal fabrication. I told him that i am having the damndest time finding a strut bar for my car. I see them all over for the 1.5, but it allways says NOT FOR 1.6. So he decided to fabricate me one. He wants to know if anyone here would be interrested in one for themselves, and if so, what price do you think is fair?

My plans are to get a full functional roll cage and front and rear sways, and a rear strut bar. Just thought I would toss that out there, to see if any of you were interrested. Let me know. My e-mail is superhyundai01@aol.com.

I haven't heard of it in a while but I believe Bretton at performance style I believe its called had one. I know some people here were testing it out to see if it fits on the 1.6 here in the states.

If he can make one that ties to the firewall as well as the struts and is hella stiff I'd definately be interested.

Hey, $85 from kspec is NOT expensive at all and they fit the 1.6. BTW, your roll cage is supposed to have contact at both rear tower mounts so how are you going to have a rear strut bar and a roll cage. That's like a turbo car with headers.

maybe i'm missing something here... but how exactly does that tie in with everything else? uzzled:

I was actually thinking of making my own strut bar for my Excel if it ends up that I don't have the money to spare, and since they're discontinued everywhere... never thought of attaching it to the firewall though. good call

That was one of the ideas we tossed around. Any of you seen the strut bars for the PT Cruiser. Like a big triangle. Hooks to the fire wall and together in the mid point of the engine bay. How's $70 sound?

Oh, and the cage question. It is comming later down the road. When it is made the strut bar will go bye, bye.
