I personally like the shaved door handles look. but if you arent looking to put alot of work into it overall I think the painted handles give it a nice look. it helps to not break the lines of the body so much.

Personally I'm taking that black trim off and bondoing it smooth and getting the shaved handle kit from autolock. it really gives the car a nice line from the front to the rear.

Yeah I thought about shaving them but the popo around here is pretty anal when it comes to this. My friend has that autoloc kit on his S-10 pickup and loves it.

Why would the police be paranoid about shaved handles?

I have done them on several cars and as I drive them to deliver the car, I have had no complaints; only questions on how to do it.

Emergency situations such as car accidents, etc. I thought they'd just bash in the window. My friends truck had shaved doorhandles but couldn't get it inspected. :ermm: They claim it could be a safety hazard like stated above. Anyway I really just want to get the mirrors and doors painted.

autolock systems have an emergency button that opens the door. You hide it under the door or in a wheel well or just about anywhere, think the GTO in Triple X its specifically for those types of situations. I cant imagine them not inspecting the car if it has the emergency buttons on it. They are mechanical I believe so they operate even without power. I could be wrong on that though.

um, not to change the subject, but where did you get a picture of a 4 dor hatchback accent? is it a chop?

I personally like black door handles on any car, the milding I'm not sure about, but the handles definetly I like for an accent on a......well...accent!

the car looks like a VW with those rims. As for the police being anal about shaved handles I can join the club on that one. One day driving around in my truck they pulled me over one day because of loud exhaust, loud system and complained about no handles. They said if I get in an accident how are they gonna open my door. Then they complained cause of my exhaust... well to bad. Straight 3" pipes off a 5.0L isn't going to be quiet duh haha

Oh woops, almost forgot my opinion. Paint away, it looks great like that!!
