Default MOVED: Oh no, every lug on my car keeps turning!!!

Ok well I ran over a nail the other day and decided since its cold I'll take my rims off and put on my factory wheels. Well got all the lugs off took off my rims and put on my factory wheels and factory lugs back on. Well damn it, they don't make the lock noise. They get tight, but if you just try a little bit harder they move more. Damn it, its getting me really pissed. Oh and if I do like 70mph the damn car feels like its gonna jump off the road. What could it be? I had mr7 rims and the lugs that came with the rims. I put back on the factory rims and lugs.

did YOU put on the new rims or did an installer do it?

if an installer did it theres a chance the lugs were a touch smaller thread bore than your factory or just tighter in general and he probably used an impact wrench to put them on. the thread is probably whacked out so your factory lugs wont fit. Stupid idea but will the lugs that came with your rims fit and hold the tire?

Ok listen. Get a tourque wrench and tighten them. I do not find that the stock wheels make the noise that the aluminum rims do. Also with a steel rim if you keep turning the steel wheel may cut into the lug. Ill be there fine. Check them, drive check them again. Dude you went from 45 series 16s to 75 series 13s of course your car feels lik eits gonna jump off the road

ok well an installer put on my MR7 rims. I took the rims off and put my factory wheels back on, and put the factory lugs back on. I think something isn't right here, cause it takes like 100feet and they all come lose, and I'm not that weak

Are the studs stripped? You might have to use the lugs that came with the rims, unless the bottom of the nut is different than the steel wheel.

Your aftermarket lug nuts should be stamped with a 12x1.5 - If its anything else, then Wallenc hit the nail on the head.

yes they are stamped, 12mml 1.50. tomorrow I am going to jack the car up and take off one wheel, and make sure there is no rust on the stud. From there I am going to tighten the F out of it. If not I'm going to hyundai.

you only blew one tire on your other set right?... wouldnt it be cheaper to just get a new tire and go back to your rims?
