Default BM shifter problems(problem FOUND)*** DIY UP wiht pics

anyone have any problems with BM shifter getting loose or out of adjustment?
for example:
say I am in first ...go to 2nd then let it pop in N (note not going 2-3 but N-3)and if I try to move it in 3rd it wont go at all like I am in between gears .... feels like linkage is misadjusted, to fix that all i got to do is move it to the right as if I was trying to shift in 5th( but don't go up ) .

another thing that bugs the hell out of me(dont happen often)
I am cruising in N...then decide to get it in 4th so I just move the shifter down but it goes in 2nd instead of 4th I don't even have to move it over towards driver side.
and again to fix this all I got to do is move shifter left right and it's all good. i am thinking somehow it gets stuck

also for past few weeks it's been a bitch getting it in 5th unless I am going 4-5(and even then dont always work). or I have to slam it real hard to the right and I mean real hard in if I want to go to 5th from N.

I have adopted to these little things but sometimes it gets on my nerves

why do u shift from nutral to another gear? why not from one to the other? did this happen with ur stock shifter? if so i would say you need to learn to shift the right way or something. you shouldnt need to adjust anything after the install. i have the b&m shifter on my 03 and have had no problems at all. better take it in to get looked at, you may have bent something. this post isnt intended to be mean or rude... but something isnt right with 1. the way u shift and might have bent something or 2. something is going bad in the linkage.

where the Fuck did you see me say this is how I shift?! I gave you a scenario during which shifter malfunctions.
either way this is not suppose to happen even if i went to N first before going in to next gear./ this never happend to stock shifter and this one didnt start to mess up after nearly half year after i got it

yes all you need to do is remove the center console part and expose your shifter. there will be screw-type adjuster locking nuts that you can adjust with and make sure it is shifting in the right spots.

it is very hard to explain but if you go in and look at it, you will see what i mean.

did you install theB&M yourself or did someone else do it??

thanks beppomarx
i have seen those adjusting screws but never thougth of them as that...for some reason i thought adjustments would need to be made near where cables hook up to the shift forks on the tranny case(that's how it is on my friends ZX3 focus)

i wont have a chance to try play around with those untill wednesday so untill then anything you can tell me about adjusting them
any pointers?

like i said before those were possible scenarios when shifting problems accured.
and are you saying that you have never been in traffic rolling slowly at 25-30 and put it in N so that it woudl just roll downhill and you wouldnt have to keep clutch down?
you've never put it in N when going downhill and let gravity do its thing?

ok i had a chance to try it today but it was unsuccesful, i did get to adjust it but not in a way that woud do any good....first time i tryed i lost all even gears and reverse.
i treyed couple more times but with no luck...i either had all odd gears or all of them but messed up shifting points.

ill try later today again maybe ill get luck this time
