I got the code out,
as expected P0302
cylinder 2 misfire
I reset it , went away, it was clear as long as I was on the gas reving at 2500 or so. once idling it came back,

I just noticed that the car idles rough, maybe it is just idling low due to something, but the god damn Tacho is worth crap for reading the exact RPM.

the OBDII is total garbage, you can't read ANYTHING. Not rpm nothing.

The filter was dirty so I took it out to see if that might have caused low idle>rough idle>misfire!
no luck,

I'll try changing the plugs and then fuel filter. But I have no time for it now.

Is there anything I can do to extract more data from the ECU. I am thinking of making an OBDII device but is there anything specific to Hyundai's that could help me have more option. hint, hint, Datalogger?!?!?!

Any ideas?

do you know the code for PO 102?

thanks man..

Ok know it sounds funny but here goes. I have a 2000 GSI manual as well.
I have the same issue and here is what I did to correct it.

First off the 2000 model had a shitty ignition coil which here in Canada would crack allow the spark to jump it would fire but with minimal spark causeing the code. Replace coil unit. (Buy aftermarket, Hyundai parts suck)

Problem reappeared after 6months and turns out my MAS Sensor was bad replaced it and not only is the spark stronger but no detenation. Oh ya for the people who question why it occurs turns out the computer in our cars are not really intelligent they screw up if one part fails so they send different parameters to the wires and ignition and presto issue solved. Buy aftermarket if you can as the Hyundai parts failed and had little to no warranty and the aftermarket are still running strong.
