Default question about the theta engines and the 2005 accent

i just wanted to know about the theta engines, their horsepower rating, inline 4's. and how many liters, like 1.5 or whatever.

than also does anybody know is it the 2005 accent that is being released with these theta engines, or 2006? and anybody have any info about them, like has hyundai released info about them at all or anything

thanks

p.s. for the reasoning, im getting a new car this upcoming aug or sept, and if thats when they're releasing these new accents, thats what i want to get

Hyundai to return to WRC next year with RC hatchback and the new theta engine.
*****This means that Hyundai has make 2500 Accents with a 2.0L.*****
Hey...I don't make the rules. I'll just be happy to buy one.

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1388413

About the theta engine, and a couple of highlights below.

1. Features: Aluminum head, block; plastic intake manifold, head cover; maintenance-free timing chain; variable valve timing; balance shaft

2. Developed by Hyundai, the engine family has three displacements, 1.8, 2.0 and 2.4 liters. Turbocharged versions also will be available

3. A high-tech engine family with a planned 300,000-mile life span will replace nearly all four-cylinder engines at the Chrysler group, Hyundai Motor Co. and Mitsubishi Motors Corp.

4. Hyundai in Korea will begin engine production this year.:nervous:

I'm sorry to break you down but WRC rules doesn't require Hyundai to produce 2 liter accents so keep dreaming about that one.

We never got 2 liter Accent when they raced in WRC and it is same thing now too.

The new Sonata is already on sale in the U.K. .......equipped with the 2.4 [4 Theta engine providing 165 crank b.h.p.

Unfortunately the first shipment on sale have old 4-speed auto boxes, which our motoring press definitely didn`t like!.

As far as I know, the Accent at the N.Y. Motor Show (with the 1.6 c.v.v.t. Alpha) will be the final model of both car & engine, before an all-new hatchback, powered by Theta engines, emerges in late 2006. This car will be the basis for Hyundai`s eventual return to the W.R.C..
I imagine there will be a sedan version made for the U.S. market, although hatchbacks are far more popular elsewhere in the world.
Diesel-powered cars will, of course, make up around half the sales in Mainland Europe & about one-third of U.K. purchases.

Nick.
