like the description says, but my only questoin is, i know the stock ones plug in and the ones ill buy will just be wires, should i clip off the plug in, or should i just tap into the stock ones? or do they sell any type of adapter to go into the stock plugs, or would just tapping into them or cutting them off be the easiest/cheapest? thanks

so pretty much just tapping into the wire then, as in leaving the plug like you said, and then stripping down a portion of the wire plastic and running off the wire under it.
right?
and what size are the door speakers

use a Digital Multimeter to figure out which one is positive and which is negative otherwise you can ruin your speakers. The multimeter will say 1.5V if it's correct or -1.5V if your positive is hooked up on the negative.

Re: Installing Front door speakers in accent 00 1.5
They're 5.25. I've heard of others putting in 6.5 but I'm not really sure how they do it cause there's a black plastic base that holds the speaker. I guess they make their own spacers. And the multimeter you can get a an auto parts store or at Walmart its in and around 15.00 dollars.
Re: Installing Front door speakers in accent 00 1.5
on the multimeter, if i strip the wire, and touch it to one, will it tell me if its the positive or negative , so that i can lable before i work? and do i need to have the car on or to ACC when testing this?

Re: Installing Front door speakers in accent 00 1.5
A multimeter won't tell you unless you put in a DC voltage at the other end. The easiest way(which I did installing the MB Quarts in mine) is as follows.
-remove door trim (DUH!)
-unscrew speaker(DUH again!)
- Just cut the plug off,I doubt you'll ever re-install the stock speakers.
- Next use a 1.5v AA battery and connect(briefly)it to the factory speaker via the short bits of wire still attatched to the plug. If the cone moves outward, your battery + is the speaker +,otherwise it's the other way around. Then you just look at the wires on the plug(colour wise-i think mine were green and white) this will tell you whick wire is the +ve one,you won't need a multimeter.

I put 6" speakers in my door. Just took out the plastic surround from the shitty stock p.o.s. and then cut the metal a bit and made new holes for the screws. I made square holes using a file and used the stock clips too so it wont slip, cross thread or anything. Solid as a rock.

Re: Installing Front door speakers in accent 00 1.5
I have the same car and was just thinking the same thing. I bought these speaker wire harnesses though they were for the wrong year. Good idea though I got screwed. the CarDomain.com store gave me a refund and let me keep the harnesses. My question here was how the hell do you get the door panel off? I'm well experienced in popping a door off in 30 seconds but this door was pissing me off. I know some cars have a ring you pop out behind the crank. I couldn't find one.
