does that Cosmo have a spot for the MAF? Looks like one painted pipe, unlike all the other posts of CAI's which have 2 sections.

Cosmos Sells a different type of CAI that has a MAF sensor for the older Accents. BUT!!!!!!! Check out the "Fuck Cosmo Racing" post that is a sticky.

Yeah i was wondering that myself.

No, I sold the intake peices so I havnt been able to do another CAI set up w/ the eclipse intake. I'm just going to buy an Eclipse GST and not worry about the Accent for a while. After I do i'll make the eclipse my daily driver and beta swap the Accent. So until than.. buy the eclipse intake and try it out. You need to cut your battery tray a bit to get it to fit. I'm sure you can figure something out, I never payed attention to where it was hitting when I was making the intake cuts... so in theory you can customize it so it wont hit the hoses.
The MAF, im not sure. My car has a map.

The concern is is that it's filter is located in a vulnerable spot where water during rain can seep in..is there any way i can avoid it?

About the water getting into the intake.. there are 2 things. One is called a bypass and the other is like a bag type thing that fits over the filter that sorta helps keep crud off the intake I supose. But the Bypass is what really helps.
Bypass (easily bought off ebay. Get AEM)
AEM ® Bypass Valve
The AEM Bypass Valve is used to protect the engine from hydro locking. Hydro locking occurs when the end of the inlet pipe is submerged in water and the water is sucked into the engine. Driving the vehicle in rainy conditions is not enough to cause a problem unless the vehicle becomes submerged enough that the inlet end of the pipe is immersed in water. Rain impingement on the filter will not cause a hydro lock condition. The distance of the filter from the road dictates the level of water that can cause damage. This distance varies with the vehicle ride height which is why there are no published numbers for this measurement. All AEM Cold Air Intakes are to be used with the splash shield that is originally installed on the vehicle for protection and performance. The removal of splash shields actually deteriorates performance by allowing hot pavement air in the vicinity of the filter and negates any positive pressure created in the air filter area when the vehicle is in motion. There are some instances where there is not enough room around the inlet pipe for adequate clearance of the Bypass Valve.
Note: I went through a 2 ft puddle w/ my CAI and was hydro locked the F*** up. I WISH i had this damn bypass. Would of saved me soooo much time. We did get the car running again (had to call my dad at 1am)but he fixed it (took about an hour). Alot of water in my exhaust, Engine, etc.. yuck. I went through it and it felt like I was parting the red sea.
