Does anyone know if your timing belt breaks if it bends the push rods.

Im pretty sure our motors are interference motors so their is definitely a chance of internal damage...

I just seen your other thread in another topic :dead: It wouldnt be covered under your warranty unless you had the timing belt changed previously. Part of the consumers deal for the warranty is regular maintainance which includes oil changes, timing belt changes etc etc at the proper intervals.... The damage was more than likely done before they put the new belt on.

Uh what kind of car is it?
can you still turn the crankshaft? Try putting a wrench on it or use your hand, I always thought it was non-interference, because its not really high compression, and theres no pushrods in the motor that i know of, just valves.

We dont have push rods.

A broken timing belt can bend the valves, have the car looked at by a mechanic. Changin my T-belt cost me like $400 for the LC (1.6L DOHC with p/s and a/c).

Never run out of real estate, traction & ideas at the same time.
